The Bundestag constituency Stadt Hannover II (constituency 42) is an electoral district in Lower Saxony and comprises the southern part of the independent city of Hanover with the districts Ahlem, Badenstedt, Bemerode, Bornum, Bult, Calenberger Neustadt, Davenstedt, Döhren, Herrenhausen, Kirchrode, Limmer, Linden ( -Nord, -Mitte and -Süd), Mitte, Mittelfeld, Mühlenberg, Nordstadt, Oberricklingen, Ricklingen, Seelhorst, Südstadt, Waldhausen, Waldheim, Wettbergen, Wülfel and Wülferode. The constituency has been won by the direct candidates of the SPD in all federal elections since 1949 . The two most prominent constituency members were the former SPD chairmen Kurt Schumacher and Erich Ollenhauer .
