Charencey is a French municipality with 797 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Orne in the region of Normandy . It is part of the Arrondissement of Mortagne-au-Perche and the Canton of Tourouvre .
Charencey was created as Commune nouvelle as part of a regional reform on January 1, 2018 through the merger of three former municipalities, which are now districts of Charencey (so-called Communes déléguées ). Saint-Maurice-lès-Charencey acts as the "superordinate district" as the administrative center.
geography
Charencey lies about 58 kilometers east-northeast of Alençon and is surrounded by Beaulieu in the north, Armentières-sur-Avre in the north and northeast, Rohaire in the northeast, La Chapelle-Fortin in the east, La Ferté-Vidame in the east and southeast, Marchainville and L ' Hôme-Chamondot in the south and Tourouvre au Perche in the west and south-west. The National Route 12 runs through the municipality .

The small village of Charencey was incorporated into Saint-Maurice-lès-Charencey in 1815 .
