The Delage Type AE was an early passenger car model from the French brand Delage .
description
Delage only offered the model in 1910. Predecessor was the Delage Type M . A type test by the national approval authority is not known, which indicates that it could be dispensed with because the Delage Type AC was already tested, a model with this wheelbase and an engine of a similar size.
A four-cylinder engine of De Dion-Bouton powered vehicles. It had a 66 mm bore and 100 mm stroke . That resulted in 1368 cm³ displacement . The engine was rated 10 Cheval fiscal . The engine performance has not been passed down, but as in the Type M with the same engine it should have been around 13.5 hp .
The chassis had a track width of 1280 mm and a wheelbase of 2750 mm . The bodies were designed as a torpedo with four seats.
Delage Type AB , Type AC, Type AD , Type AE and Type AH had a similar or even identical chassis. The main difference was in the engine used.
Numbers of units and surviving vehicles
Peter Jacobs from the Delage Register of Great Britain compiled an overview of production figures and the number of vehicles that still exist in October 2006. His information on the construction times differ in some cases from the information given by the book authors. Numbers of the models before the First World War are unknown. For this model he confirms that it was built in 1910. One vehicle still exists.
