The Delage Type AM was an early passenger car model from the French brand Delage .

description

The national registration authority tested the vehicle with the number 5118 and engine number 11007 and granted approval on May 7, 1914. Delage offered the model from 1914 to 1918. Predecessor was the Delage Type R .

A four-cylinder engine from Établissements Ballot of the type 4 G 4 propelled the vehicles. It had a 65 mm bore and 120 mm stroke . That resulted in 1593 cm³ displacement . He was classified with 9  Cheval fiscal . The engine performance is not recorded. The only known structure was initially a torpedo with four seats.

In 1919, Bernard manufactured another 400 vehicles of this type under a license from Delage. Now, in addition to the four-seater torpedo, two-door sedans were also available. The price of 18,000 or 20,000 francs was higher than that of a comparable Citroën Type A , which cost 16,500 francs at the time.

Numbers of units and surviving vehicles

Peter Jacobs from the Delage Register of Great Britain compiled an overview of production figures and the number of vehicles that still exist in October 2006. His information on the construction times differ in some cases from the information given by the book authors. Numbers of the models before the First World War are unknown. He mentions the construction period for this model from 1914 to 1918. There are still seven vehicles in existence.
