The Delage Type BI was an early passenger car model from the French brand Delage .
description
The national registration authority tested the vehicle with the number 5691 and engine number 6866 and granted approval on December 23, 1915. Delage offered the model from 1915 to 1917. The predecessor was the Delage Type AI .
A self-made four-cylinder type 4 I engine powered the vehicles. It had a 75 mm bore and 130 mm stroke . That resulted in a displacement of 2297 cm³ and 12 Cheval fiscal . The engine output was 24 hp .
The chassis had a track width of 1300 mm and a wheelbase of 2950 mm . Only four-seater torpedoes have survived on the superstructure .
Besides the Delage Type S racing car, it was the only model with a pointed radiator .
Numbers of units and surviving vehicles
Peter Jacobs from the Delage Register of Great Britain compiled an overview of production figures and the number of vehicles that still exist in October 2006. His information on the construction times differ in some cases from the information given by the book authors. Numbers of the models before the First World War are unknown. For this model he confirms the construction period from 1915 to 1917. One vehicle still exists.
