The Delage Type Y was a racing car from the French brand Delage .
description
The national registration authority approved the vehicle with chassis number 1 and engine number 1 on June 24, 1913. Delage used the vehicles from 1913 to 1914. Predecessor was the Delage Type X , successor was Delage Type S .
A four-cylinder engine powered the vehicles. It was classified with 33 Cheval fiscal and had a 105 mm bore and 180 mm stroke 6234 cm³ displacement . The four valves of each cylinder were arranged horizontally and were operated by two side camshafts via tappets , push rods and rocker arms. The engine had double ignition with two magnetos and had a maximum output of around 105 hp (77 kW) at 2300 rpm.
A top speed of 160 km / h was determined during test drives. In races this value was possibly even higher.
The vehicle had a track width of 1300 mm and a wheelbase of 2750 mm . The curb weight was given depending on the source as 950 kg or 1000 kg.
Presumably four vehicles were built. The Indianapolis winning vehicle is in the Indianapolis Speedway Museum .
