The Delage Type DM was a series of passenger cars from the French brand Delage . In addition to the basic type, it included Delage Type DMN and Delage Type DMS .

description

The national licensing authority granted approval for the basic type on February 9, 1926. No further approvals are known for the variants. Delage offered the models from 1926 to 1929. There was no direct predecessor. The successor was the Delage Type D.6 .

A six-cylinder engine powered the vehicles. It had a 75 mm bore and 120 mm stroke . This resulted in a displacement of 3181 cm³ and a tax classification of 17  Cheval fiscal . The engine developed 62  HP in the versions Type DM and Type DMN and 78 HP in the sports version Type DMS .

The Type DM had a chassis with a 1420 mm track width and 3500 mm wheelbase . When Type DMN is the front track was 1380 mm and rear 1320 mm, the wheelbase 3390 mm. The type DMS had a uniform track width of 1380 mm and was shorter with a wheelbase of 3210 mm. One source gives 4800 mm vehicle length, 1650 mm vehicle width and 1500 kg empty weight .

The vehicles were available as sedans , touring cars , coupes , convertibles and roadsters .

Numbers of units and surviving vehicles

Peter Jacobs from the Delage Register of Great Britain compiled an overview of production figures and the number of vehicles that still exist in October 2006. His information on the construction times differ in some cases from the information given by the book authors. For Type DM and Type DMN he confirms the construction period from 1926 to 1929. Of 2227 vehicles produced, 69 still exist. Of 340 type DMS produced from the construction period from March 1927 to May 1929, 21 are known.
