The Delage Type D.8.15 was a car model from the French brand Delage . There are also the notations Delage Type D8.15 and Delage Type D8 15 . The 15 stood for the tax classification with 15  Cheval fiscal . For similarly named models see Delage Type D.8 .

description

The national registration authority approved the vehicle with the number 38.001 on July 3, 1933. Delage offered the model from 1934 to 1935. It was the Delage model with the smallest eight-cylinder engine and had neither a direct predecessor nor a direct successor.

An eight-cylinder N 2 engine powered the vehicles. It had a 75 mm bore and 75.5 mm stroke . These dimensions corresponded to the six-cylinder engine of the Delage Type D.6.11 . This resulted in a displacement of 2668 cm³ . The engine made 80 hp. In addition to the normal version, there were the variants L for long and S for sport. The latter had an N 3 engine . No other motor differences are known.

The chassis had a track width of 1480 mm at the front and 1440 mm at the rear, and 1360 mm for the sports variant. The wheelbase was 3060 mm for the normal version and the sport version and 3260 mm for the long version. The curb weight was between 1540 kg and 1680 kg.

Bodies as two- and four-door sedans , Pullman sedans , coupes , convertibles and roadsters have been handed down.

Numbers of units and surviving vehicles

Peter Jacobs from the Delage Register of Great Britain compiled an overview of production figures and the number of vehicles that still exist in October 2006. His information on the construction times differ in some cases from the information given by the book authors. For this model he confirms the construction period from 1934 to 1935. Of around 505 vehicles produced, 16 still exist and of around 126 Type D.8.15 S there are 11.

Auctions

On February 6, 2014, Bonhams auctioned a four-door sedan from 1934 for 74,750 euros .

Artcurial offered on February 6, 2015 Coach of Autobineau in poor condition from the collection Baillon on, expected a price of 30,000 to 50,000 euros , but reached 125,160 euros.

On November 11, 2018, Osenat achieved 96,000 euros for a 1934 convertible from Ateliers Henri Chapron . Osenat offered the same vehicle again on March 23, 2019 and hoped for a price of 80,000 to 120,000 euros, but could not auction the vehicle.
