Dietmar Guth

Dietmar Guth (* 1959 in Königsbronn on the Swabian Alb) is a German radio play author and writer .

life and work

Dietmar Guth studied German , literature and philosophy in Münster and Freiburg . After various activities in industry, from 1987 onwards he worked regularly on night duty in a surgical intensive care unit in Freiburg. In the 1990s he wrote numerous radio plays, including for Radio Bremen and Bayerischer Rundfunk . In his radio play Introduction to Kitsch. Deaths - voted radio play of the month for May in 1991 - he processed his experiences in an intensive care unit. The radio play tries to depict a central experience of dying and death and to make it understandable.

In his third radio play A Bronchial Carcinoma Coping Radio Play - produced in 1991 by Radio Bremen under the direction of Gerhard Willert - a man monologues about his death for 35 minutes.

In his short stories, novels and stories, published since 2012, invention and autobiographical memory mix.

Dietmar Guth, father of two children, has lived and worked in Rostock since 2012 .
