Dundee is a city in Polk County in the US state of Florida with 3717 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Dundee borders Lake Hamilton in the north and is around 20 km northeast of Bartow and around 60 km southwest of Orlando .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 3717 inhabitants at that time were distributed among 2008 households. The population density was 364.4 inh / km². 60.6% of the population identified themselves as whites, 25.2% as African American , 0.6% as Indians and 1.7% as Asian Americans . 8.5% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.4% to several ethnic groups. 21.3% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 34.7% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 34.2% of all households. 69.9% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.73 people and the average family size was 3.27 people.

28.4% of the population were younger than 20 years, 24.1% were 20 to 39 years old, 24.4% were 40 to 59 years old, and 23.2% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 38 years. 49.5% of the population were male and 50.5% were female.

The median annual income was $ 40,596, with 22.1% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 91.03% of the population and Spanish was spoken by 8.97%.

On July 30, 2001, the Old Dundee Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Depot was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places .
