Eckersdorf (colloquially: ächeʳschdoʳf ) is a district of the Thurnau market in the Upper Franconian district of Kulmbach .
geography
The hamlet is on the Aubach . It now forms a closed settlement with Thurnau and has merged into it as Eckersdorfer Weg. This leads westwards to Kulmbacher Straße (= State Road 2689 ) or eastwards to Jägerstraße (= Kreisstraße KU 28 ). There is a tree in Eckersdorf that has been recognized as a natural monument .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1255 as "Ekkehardestorf". In 1526 the place was called "Eckersdorf". The defining word of the place name is the personal name Agihard. With the personal name the founder of the settlement was probably given.
Towards the end of the 18th century, Eckersdorf consisted of four properties (1 mill, 2 Sölden , 1 house) and a barren farmstead at the time. The Giech'sche Amt Thurnau exercised the high court as well as the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties .
From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the patrimonial court of Thurnau . With the community edict, Eckersdorf was assigned to the Thurnau tax district in 1811 and to the Thurnau municipal community in 1818.
