Ekstraliga (chess) 2012

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ekstraliga (chess) 2012 was the eleventh edition of the Ekstraliga and the 68th Polish team championship in chess . The Polish team champion was the team of KSz Polonia Warszawa, which relegated the tied WASKO HetMaN Szopienice to second place with the better number of points on the board. With the withdrawal of LKS Pasjonat Dankowice in the previous year, the team from LKS Wrzos Międzyborów that played in the II league a year earlier (the other teams the I league waived a possible promotion). While Żnin and Ostróda achieved relegation, Międzyborów had to relegate together with MLKS Nadnarwianka Pułtusk again, and the master KSz Polonia Warszawa withdrew his team.

The ten teams played a simple round-robin tournament on six boards, with a woman standing on the sixth board. The last two placed were relegated to the I league and were replaced by the first two placed in the I league. The number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).
