Lauperswil is a municipality in the Emmental administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .
geography
Lauperswil is located in the Emmental and covers 2119 hectares, of which 687 hectares are forest.
The municipality of Lauperswil consists of the villages Lauperswil, Emmenmatt, Wittenbach, Längenbach, Moosegg, Obermatt, Mungnau and part of the village of Zollbrück .
politics
The voting shares of the parties in the 2019 National Council election were: SVP 52.9%, BDP 9.5%, SP 7.0%, EDU 4.3%, glp 5.9%, GPS 7.7%, FDP 4.1 %, EVP 2.7%, CVP 0.4%.
economy
Tourism plays a small but not insignificant role, several typical Emmental inns offer rooms. One of the most famous excursion restaurants in the Emmental is located on the Moosegg.
Attractions
The church from 1518 still has the original glass paintings from the construction period. The three bells are among the oldest in the canton of Bern (around 1250 and 1470).
The ruins of the Höhenburg Wartenstein are located in the area of the municipality . The exact time of construction is not known. The knights Swaro von Wartenstein are named as the first owners from 1228.
