Fröschau is a district of the market Bechhofen in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is located on the north bank of the Wieseth, directly opposite the village of Heinersdorf . The Bechhofen industrial park borders in the west. In the north flows the Bronnenwiesengraben, which flows 1.5 km further east at Voggendorf as a left tributary into the Wieseth. The district road AN 57 leads to Voggendorf (1.5 km east) or to state road 2221 at the Bechhofen industrial park (0.2 km west). A community road leads to Heinersdorf (0.3 km south).

history

Fröschau was originally just an unofficial name for the part of Heinersdorf north of the Wieseth . The Fraisch border ran through Heinersdorf between the Ansbach Oberamt Wassertrüdingen and the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . This was based on the Wieseth. The northern part belonged to Feuchtwangen. In 1732 Fröschau consisted of 7 properties and a community pastor's house. The landlords were the Waizendorf administration office (1 yard, 2 estates, 1 estate with a forge) and the Eichstätt caste office Ornbau (3 yards). Nothing in these conditions changed until the end of the Old Kingdom . From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .

As a result of the community edict, Fröschau was assigned to the tax district and rural community formed in 1809 Unterkönigshofen . In 1818 it was reorganized into the newly formed rural community of Birkach ( renamed after Heinersdorf in 1870 ). As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Fröschau was incorporated into Bechhofen on July 1, 1971.
