Franz Löffler (born September 10, 1961 in Waldmünchen ) is a German politician ( CSU ). On July 18, 2010 he was elected district administrator for the district of Cham. He is the district council president of the Upper Palatinate and was mayor of the city ​​of Waldmünchen until his election as district administrator . For many years he has been particularly successful in promoting the Cham border region (between Bavaria and the Czech Republic ), youth work and social projects ( BRK ).

Life

Franz Löffler completed his training as an administrative specialist after attending the Waldmünchen primary school and the Marist Realschule in Cham . In this position he had been employed since 1977, first in the Cham district office , then from 1980 onwards for the city of Waldmünchen as a registrar and head of the public order office. He is married and has two children.

politics

From 2002 to 2010 Löffler was full-time mayor of the city of Waldmünchen and district councilor in the district of Cham. He has been the District Councilor of the Upper Palatinate District since 2003 and President of the District Assembly since 2008. On April 16, 2010, he was nominated as the CSU candidate to succeed the previous District Administrator Theo Zellner . Zellner became President of the Bavarian Savings Banks Association in Munich on April 15, 2010 and has therefore resigned from his position as District Administrator. In the subsequent election, on July 18, 2010, Löffler was elected District Administrator of the Cham district.

Franz Löffler played a leading role in setting up the international youth education center in Waldmünchen as chairman of the special purpose association Waldmünchen youth center.

As a member of the board of the Bavarian Red Cross (District Association Cham) and the District Association of Upper Palatinate, he has been socially committed for many years. Until 2010 he was the honorary chairman of the Trenck Festival Association in Waldmünchen.

Franz Löffler is a member of the main committee of the Euregio Bavarian Forest - Bohemian Forest . In this function he was also appointed as the representative of the Upper Palatinate for this European region and is particularly committed to cross-border cooperation and the strengthening of the peripheral regions involved in the Euregio , which are not only weaker in economic terms than metropolitan areas .

As chairman of the "Tourismusgemeinschaft Waldmünchen Urlaubsland", as chairman of the "Energieverein Čerchov " and as chairman of the "Action Alliance Cerchov", he has been successfully promoting local citizens' interests for years.

He is an honorary member of the Oberpfälzer Kulturbund .
