Gorjatschi Kljutsch ( Russian Горячий Ключ ) is a city with 30,126 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010) in the Krasnodar region in southern Russia .
geography
The city is located on the northern foothills of the Greater Caucasus , on the Kuban tributary Psekups. The distance to the regional capital Krasnodar in the north is around 60 km, the closest city is Adygeisk and is around 40 km north of Goryachi Klyuch.
history
Gorjatschi Klyutsch was founded in 1864 and was conceived as a health resort from the beginning, as there are several thermal springs in the vicinity of today's town . The city name, which literally means "hot spring", is based on this. Originally, the newly founded health resort mainly treated soldiers from the nearby garrisons; In the 1860s there was a hospital, a bathhouse and a spa park here.
In 1930 Gorjatschi Kljutsch, meanwhile a nationally known address for those seeking relaxation, received the status of a health resort, and since 1965 it has had the status of a town.

economy
The city, which is close to the intersection of the two trunk roads M4 and M29 , lives mainly from the spa business, has hardly any industry and is therefore ecologically very clean by Russian standards. There are several sanatoriums in Gorjatschi Klyuch that specialize in external and internal treatment with six types of mineral water obtained from a total of 17 springs in and around the city. Recently, the construction of a large thermal bath complex is planned here, in which specialists from Baden-Baden will also be involved.
