Hamura ( Japanese 羽 村 市 , - shi ) is a city in the Japanese prefecture of Tokyo, west of Tokyo .

Hamura is west of Tokyo , south of Ōme and north of Hachiōji . The Tama River flows through the city from northwest to southwest.
