Handball Bundesliga (women) 2009/10
The Handball Bundesliga (women) 2009/10 was the 25th season of the women's handball Bundesliga . The first game day of the season began on September 5, 2009. 12 teams played in the main round for a place in the play-offs for the German championship. The best eight teams then played there for the German championship 2010. In addition, five teams competed in European competitions. Champion was the defending champion HC Leipzig .

Play-offs German championship
In play-off games, if there is a tie, the better goal difference counts. If this is also the same, the higher number of goals scored away ( away goal rule ) decides . If there is still no winner, the winner can be determined by a 7-meter throw immediately after the respective play-off second leg.
Quarter finals
In the quarter-finals, the first in the table meets the eighth, the second in the table seventh, the third in the table sixth and the fourth in the table fifth.
The first 4 places have the right to play the second leg at home.
The first leg took place on 17./21. April 2010, the second leg on 24./28. April 2010.
