The Indonesia Raya , older spelling Indonesia Raja ( Great Indonesia ), is the national anthem of Indonesia . It was composed in 1924 by Wage Rudolf Soepratman and presented to the public on October 28, 1928 at an all-Indonesian youth congress in Batavia .
The anthem, which emphasizes the unity of all of Indonesia, quickly became popular and was soon sung at many political demonstrations. After Indonesia's independence from the Netherlands in 1945, it was made the national anthem.

Indonesia tanah airku, tanah tumpah darahku Di sanalah aku Berdiri, jadi pandu ibuku Indonesia kebangsaanku, bangsa dan tanah airku Marilah kita berseru, Indonesia Bersatu
Hiduplah tanahku, hiduplah negeriku Bangsaku rakyatku Semuanya Bangunlah jiwanya bangunlah badannya Untuk Indonesia Raya
Indonesia, my motherland, the land where I shed my blood,
Here I stand as my mother's guardian.
Indonesia, my people, my nation and my country,
let's exclaim, "Indonesia is united!"
Long live my country, long live my state,
my nation, all my people, all
wake up with soul and body,
For the great Indonesia!
Indonesia my native land, the land where I shed my blood.
There I stand, as a guard of my mother.
Indonesia my nationality, my nation and my country.
Let us exclaim "Indonesia Unites!"
Long live my land, long live my state,
My nation, my people, everyone.
Awaken your spirit, awaken your bodies
For Great Indonesia!
