German translation of the first stanza

Protector of the homeland, peace be with you!
Our proud spirit will not be subjugated,
the abode of Arabism is a sacred sanctuary,
just as the throne of the suns is an impregnable kingdom.
The vast flowering plains of Syria are like lofty towers,
they touch the highest sky.
Such a land that blooms by the shining of its suns
is like a sky, or even the sky itself.
The waving of hopes and the beating of the heart
are in the flag that unites a whole country.
Isn't there the blackness of the eye and
the ink from the blood of the martyrs?
Our spirits are defiant and our history is glorious,
and the souls of our martyrs are great guardians.
We made al-Walid and ar-Raschīd
Why shouldn't we bloom and why shouldn't we build?
