National anthem of Mongolia

The national anthem of Mongolia was created in 1950. The music was composed by Bilegiin Damdinsüren (1919–1991) and Luwsandschambyn Mördordsch (1915–1996), the original version of the text comes from Tsendiin Damdinsüren (1908–1986).

While the melody has remained unchanged since the anthem was introduced, the text was subject to several changes: For example, in 1961 a version written by Dzewegmiddiin Gaitaw and Chuilyn Tschimid was put into effect, in which the communist orientation of the country was emphasized more strongly. In the course of the democratization of Mongolia, the original text from 1950 was reintroduced in 1991, but without the middle stanza, which contained praises of the communist leaders Lenin , Stalin , Süchbaatar and Choibalsan . On July 6, 2006, the Mongolian parliament passed a modified version of the original text in memory of Genghis Khan .

The forerunner of today's national anthem of Mongolia was the "Mongolian International" (Mongol Intyörnatsional) , which was valid from 1924 to 1950 , but which only had the title in common with the song of the same name of the international labor movement.
