The repair command 1 was one of the repair commands of the army of the Bundeswehr . The headquarters were in Bielefeld . The repair command was part of the corps troops of the I. Corps .

assignments

The repair command bundled the units of the repair troops at the level of the corps . The task was primarily to test , maintain and repair the weapon systems , vehicles and electronic devices such as telecommunications technology or drones of the corps of the 1st Corps. The subordinate divisions and brigades led their own units of the repair force; Depending on the situation , the repair command supported these subordinate units . The repair command carried out repairs up to the field repair stage at most ; The Service Command 800 of the Territorial Army was particularly responsible for work at higher levels of material conservation , which ran its own army repair works and depot repair groups or delegated the orders to private companies. The repair command's secondary task was to dispose of ordnance .

In peacetime around 1989, the repair command consisted of only around 1,500 active soldiers. In the event of a defense , the repair command was able to grow to around 3,000 men after mobilization through the summoning of reservists . Overall, the size of the repair command after mobilization was about 50% of the size of one of the brigades of the field army.

structure

Around 1989 the repair team was roughly divided into:

  • Internal association badge Head company repair command 1, Bielefeld
    • Internal association badge Repair Battalion 110 (partially active), Coesfeld
    • Internal association badge Repair battalion 120 (partly active), Rheine
    • Internal association badge Repair Battalion 130 (GerEinh), Bad Rothenfelde
    • Internal association badgeRepair training company 9 / I, Stadtoldendorf
    • Internal association badgeRepair training company 10 / I, Dülmen (in peacetime to repair battalion 120)
    • Internal association badge Repair training company 11 / I, Coesfeld (in peacetime to repair battalion 110)

history

The repair command was set up in 1972 to take Army Structure III in the Ravensberger barracks in Bielefeld . For the supply as the second pillar of the logistics corps of "sister organization" was replenishment command one responsible.

After the end of the Cold War , the repair command was decommissioned in 1994 at around the same time as the 1st Corps was reclassified to the 1st German-Dutch Corps .

Association badge

Due to its planning as part of the dependent corps troops, the repair command did not have its own association badge . The soldiers therefore wore the association badge of the higher corps.

As a “badge”, the internal association badge of the staff and the staff companypars pro toto ” was sometimes used imprecisely for the entire repair team. It showed the federal eagle similar to the badge of the 1st Corps and similar to the beret badge of the repair troop cannon barrels, a rocket , a stylized gear and an artistic atomic model on the blue weapon color of the troop type. The devices shown stood for the maintenance and repair of the weapon system , the electronic and mechanical systems of the corps.
