Interzonal tournament Biel 1993

The interzonal Biel in 1993 was established in July 1993 in Biel played. It was organized by the World Chess Federation FIDE and was intended to identify ten participants in the candidate competitions for the 1996 FIDE World Championship . The interzonal tournament was played over 13 rounds in the Swiss system. 73 players took part. The also registered player Esam Aly Ahmed from Egypt did not appear. Due to the odd number of participants, one player was free of play in each round.
