Daniel Zillmann (born January 18, 1981 in West Berlin ) is a German actor , voice actor and singer .

Life

Daniel Zillmann grew up in the Berlin district of Neukölln , Rixdorf district. Zillmann completed an acting training with Kristiane Kupfer at the Special Coaching Actors Studio in Berlin. In 2005 he made his cinema debut in Leander Haußmann's film NVA .

In 2006, he starred in the real-life comedy Schwere Jungs , directed by Marcus H. Rosenmüller, in the role of Toni, a member of a bobsleigh team that competed in the 1952 Winter Olympics . He was also seen as the satanist Arnold in the episode film Black Sheep . In 2008 he played the lead role of the chaotic musician Nick in interactive Pro7 - Comedy Series Check It Out . In 2009 he was at the side of Teresa Weißbach and Sebastian Ströbel in the mystery thriller Gonger - Evil never forgets to see. In the ARD - fairytale The wise farmer's daughter (2009) he played the comic role of the cousin who craves the royal throne.

From 2007 to 2008, Zillmann had a continuous leading role in the crime series Deadline - Every Second Counts , where he played as Schmidt a member of the four-man crisis intervention team, and had a recurring series role as patrol officer Stefan Mahler in the ZDF series KDD - Kriminal habitual service (2007-2008) . He also took on various episode roles in other television series, including In the Name of the Law (2008), Doctor's Diary and The Last Bull (2013).

Zillmann also worked in several short films and university films . In addition to his work as an actor, Zillmann also works as a voice actor and speaker for radio plays , including the radio play version of the film 13 semesters . In the computer animation film Baymax - Giant Robowabohu (2015) he speaks the role of Wasabi No-Ginger (voice of Damon Wayans Jr. ). As a voice actor he can be heard in Merida - Legende der Highlands , Zoomania as Clawhauser and in Hotel Transsilvanien , Hotel Transsilvanien 2 and Hotel Transsilvanien 3 as Murray.

In 2015 Daniel Zillmann stood in front of the camera as Tobias Preuss for the ZDF multi-part series The same sky by Oliver Hirschbiegel , which premiered at the 2017 Berlinale .

He was the lead singer of the band Norma Jeane Baker and a member of the Berlin artist collective "HüKST", with whom he developed the series Crème Frech and took on one of the leading roles alongside Maxim Mehmet . Zillmann had teamed up with the producer and songwriter Luci van Org for the music project KiNG MAMI , of which he also published some music videos on his Facebook page and on YouTube . KiNG MAMI was the support on the Fotogena tour 2018/2019 of the band Laing . In the time between filming and the theater he records songs for an upcoming album in the studio. On November 22nd, 2019, KiNG MAMI's first official music video, My Time, was released on Facebook and YouTube.

For his role as Ork Ogrosch in the web series World of Wolfram , he was nominated at the Los Angeles Web Series Festival 2017 (LAWEBFEST) in the category "Outstanding Actor".

Daniel Zillmann has been regularly seen in the theater since 2014. At the Volksbühne Berlin took Zillmann in Frank Castorf -Inszenierung of Henrik Ibsen's play The Master Builder 's dual role Mrs Solness / Ragnar Brovik and was the feature pages then u. a. celebrated as the “discovery of the evening”. Also directed by Frank Castorf, Daniel Zillmann played Alexej in Dostojewski's Die Brüder Karamasow alongside Marc Hosemann (as Dmitrij), Alexander Scheer (Iwan), Sophie Rois (Pawel Smerdjakow) and Hendrik Arnst (the old Karamasow). The piece premiered at the Wiener Festwochen in May 2015. On February 25, 2017 Daniel Zillmann premiered the play I Can't Any More at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg ; it was his second collaboration with director René Pollesch . In March 2017, the premiere of Frank Castorf's Faust with Zillmann as Monsieur Bordenave took place at the Volksbühne Berlin. In June 2017 Zillmann jumped at short notice for an ailing colleague in Frank Castorf last people's theaters -Stück A weak heart one. After only one rehearsal, Daniel Zillmann played the premiere and received very positive reviews in the press.
