Administrative history

After the reorganization of the district structure in the Prussian state after the Congress of Vienna , the district of Cüstrin in the administrative district of Frankfurt in the province of Brandenburg was established in 1816 . It was composed of areas that had previously belonged to the Brandenburg districts of Landsberg , Lebus and Königsberg . The district office was in the city of Cüstrin. In 1816 the Cüstrin district had 26,595 inhabitants.

On January 1, 1836, the Cüstrin district was dissolved again and the district memberships that were valid until 1816 were restored. The eastern half of the district with the cities of Cüstrin, Fürstenfelde and Neudamm came back to the Königsberg district, the western half again to the Lebus district and the area around the Blumberg and Groß Cammin to the Landsberg district.

In the Königsberg district, a second district office was set up because of the great distance between the district town of Königsberg and the new southern part of the district in Cüstrin.
