Lara Arruabarrena Vecino (born March 20, 1992 in Tolosa ) is a Spanish tennis player .
Career
Arruabarrena, who started tennis at the age of eight, prefers clay courts according to the ITF profile. From 2007 she competed in ITF tournaments.
Her greatest success so far was winning the 2012 title at the WTA tournament in Bogotá , where she defeated Alexandra Panowa in straight sets in the final. On February 17, 2013, she won the WTA Challenger tournament in Cali with a two-set win over Catalina Castaño and thus celebrated her second WTA title at the newly created Challenger tournament series in 2012 . Since 2013, she has won eight WTA titles in doubles with alternating partners. In February 2015, she reached her previous best mark in the double ranking with 28th place. In April 2017, she marked a new career high with 59th place in the individual world rankings.
In 2015 she made her debut for the Spanish Fed Cup team ; she has now played eight Fed Cup games, three of which she has won.
