League Cup 1985/86

The 1985/86 League Cup was the 26th edition of the English League Cup , which had existed since 1960 .

The competition started on August 20, 1985 with the first round and ended on April 20, 1986 with the final at Wembley . The title went through a 3-0 final win over Queens Park Rangers at Oxford United . The club from Oxford , which has played in the English top division for the first time since the Football League First Division began in 1985/86, secured its first title in the club's history. The Queens Park Rangers reached the final of the League Cup for the second time after winning the title in 1967 (3-2 against West Bromwich Albion).
