League Cup 1986/87

The 1986/87 League Cup was the 27th edition of the English League Cup , which had existed since 1960 .

The competition started on August 25, 1986 with the first round and ended on April 5, 1987 with the final at Wembley . The title went to Arsenal FC , who beat Liverpool 2-1 in the final. The club from London won the English league cup for the first time after two defeats in the final (1968 and 1969).
