The women's 100-meter hurdles at the 1982 European Athletics Championships was held on September 7th and 9th, 1982 in the Olympic Stadium in Athens .

The European champion was Lucyna Kałek from Poland , who had been third in the Olympic Games in 1980 under her name Lucyna Langer. She won ahead of Bulgarian Jordanka Donkowa . Bronze went to GDR athlete Kerstin Knabe , and in 1980 she won the Olympics under her name, Kerstin Claus.

Record improvement

European champion Lucyna Kałek improved the existing EM record in the semifinals on September 7th by fifteen hundredths of a second to 12.45 s and equalized this new record in the final on September 9th. Poland 1944Poland 

Preliminary round

September 7, 1982

The preliminary round was held in two runs. With sixteen runners, the number of participants was so small that no intermediate round was necessary. From the preliminary runs it went straight to the final, for which the first four athletes per run - highlighted in light blue - qualified.
