Lend is a municipality with 1282 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Zell am See district in the state of Salzburg .
geography
Lend is the lowest part of the Pinzgau municipality on the Salzach . It is mainly on the south bank. In the north, the Salzach largely forms the municipal boundary. In the south it extends to the Bernkogel ( 2325 m ). In the west, the Rauriser Ache forms the border, which here squeezes through the narrowness of the Kitzlochklamm . At the eastern edge of the village, the Gasteiner Ache flows into the Salzach.

- From the train station you can see the production facilities of Salzburger Aluminum AG, on whose premises the
Klammstein power plant is located, a high-pressure hydropower plant that uses the Gasteiner Ache. This can also be seen in the freely laid pressure pipeline. The headwater, the Gasteiner Ache, is collected at Klammstein Castle and drives three Francis turbines with a total of 21 MW in the power house on a slope of 163 m. The power plant is located on the premises of SAG Lend. SAG also has the Kitzloch power plant in Taxenbach.
The Dientenbach small power station of the Austrian Federal Forests is partly located in the municipality of Dienten .
