List of members of the Vorarlberg state parliament (XIXth legislative period)
This list provides an overview of the members of the XIX. Vorarlberg Landtag in the legislative period from 1959 to 1964.
The 19th Vorarlberg state parliament was elected in the state elections on October 18, 1959 and held its constituent meeting on October 29 of the same year. Josef Andreas Feuerstein from ÖVP Vorarlberg was elected President of the State Parliament in this session, as in the two previous session periods . In the 19th state parliament, 36 instead of the previous 26 mandataries were represented in the state parliament for the first time. Of these, 21 members of the ÖVP, 10 of the SPÖ and 5 MPs of the FPÖ were represented, with the People's Party having an absolute majority . The Communist Party of Austria , which also ran for the state elections, failed, as in 1945, 1949 and 1954, at the 4 percent hurdle for entry into the state parliament. With Elfriede Blaickner (ÖVP) and Anna Mayr (SPÖ), two women entered the 19th Vorarlberg state parliament for the first time.
