List of members of the Vorarlberg state parliament (XXI legislative period)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of the members of the Vorarlberg state parliament (XXI. Legislative period) lists all the members of the Vorarlberg state parliament during the XXI. Legislative period. The Landtag officiated in the XXI. Legislative period from October 29, 1969 until the deputies of the XII. Legislative period on November 4, 1974.

After the state elections in 1969 , the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) had 20 members of the 36 members. Nine MPs were from the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ), seven from the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). Due to the strong profits, the FPÖ was able to place one more MP at the expense of the SPÖ compared to the state elections in 1964 , the number of ÖVP mandates remained the same despite heavy losses.

Functions

Landtag President

According to the state constitution, the right to the position of the state parliament president fell, unless the state parliament groups agreed otherwise, to the party with the strongest vote and thus to the ÖVP. In the first session of the Landtag on November 4, 1974, Karl Tizian was re-elected President of the Landtag. In the written election, 36 votes were cast, 35 of which were valid and one was empty. Titian was able to unite all 35 valid votes. The election of the vice-presidents of the state parliament took place on the same day in accordance with the state assembly, including the president according to the principles of proportional representation, whereby the ÖVP had the right to propose the office of 1st vice-president and the SPÖ the right to propose the office of 2nd vice-president. In the election of the vice-presidents, 36 votes were cast, two of which remained empty. Friedrich Heinzle (ÖVP) was elected 1st Vice President of the State Parliament with 34 votes, Walter Peter (SPÖ) also received 34 votes in his election as 2nd State Parliament Vice President.

Walter Peter resigned from his post as 2nd Vice President of the State Parliament on June 24, 1970, with Elmar Steurer (SPÖ) succeeding him on the same day .

Club chairmen

As in the previous period, Ignaz Battlogg continued to work as chairman of the ÖVP state parliament club. In the SPÖ, Walter Peter held the office of chairman of the state parliament, in January 1972 he was replaced by Karl Graf in this position. In the FPÖ, Alfred Eß was the club chairman, with Fritz Franke acting as his deputy .
