The high-voltage direct current ( HVDC ) is a method for the transmission of electrical energy with direct current high voltage (100-1000  kV ). The following is an overview of the systems implemented.

1420 ± 533 1920 1979 The thyristor valves are not housed in a hall, but in oil-filled containers outdoors. The facility was damaged in the 1980s during the Mozambican Civil War and was inoperative for 17 years. It was subsequently renewed and put back into operation in 1998.

  15. For the private investor Adani Power Limited (APL), Siemens Energy is building a bipolar 500 kV HVDC transmission system in India for an output of 2,500 MW. From February 2011, the HVDC system is to transfer electrical power over around 960 kilometers from a coal-fired power station near the port city of Mundra on India's west coast to the industrial regions of the state of Haryana near New Delhi.
