Marc-Oliver Kempf (born January 28, 1995 in Lich ) is a German football player . He has been under contract with VfB Stuttgart since the 2018/19 season .
Career
societies
Kempf joined the youth department of Eintracht Frankfurt in 2007 through the clubs JSG Bad Nauheim , TSV Dorn-Assenheim and SV Bruchenbrücken . On November 27, 2012 (14th matchday) he made his debut in the Bundesliga . In the 1: 3 defeat in the home game against 1. FSV Mainz 05 , he completed 90 minutes. For the 2014/15 season , Kempf moved to SC Freiburg . He scored his first goal for this on September 19, 2014 in the 30th minute of the game in a 2-2 draw against Hertha BSC .
After the last matchday of the preseason , VfB Stuttgart announced that Kempf had signed a free transfer at the beginning of the 2018/19 season . He signed a contract with the Swabians that ran until June 2022. After the club split from Kempf's predecessor Christian Gentner after relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga , the new head coach appointed Tim Walter Kempf captain of VfB Stuttgart in July 2019. In the 2019/20 second division season , he was team captain with VfB and was promoted to the Bundesliga again. During the following summer break, Kempf was replaced by Gonzalo Castro in the captaincy.
National team
Kempf was used five times in the U-16 national team . He played both for the U-17 national team , with which he took part in the U-17 European Championship in Slovenia in the summer of 2012 , and for the U-18 national team . He has been playing for the U-19 national team since 2013 and won the U-19 European Football Championship in Hungary in 2014 . He made his debut for the U-20 national team on September 3, 2014 in the 1-0 defeat against Italy . At the U-21 European Championship 2017 in Poland, Kempf played for the full duration of every game and won the title with the German U-21 . In the 3-0 victory in the group game against Denmark on June 21, 2017, he scored his first goal for the U-21s.
