Mavie Hörbiger (born November 14, 1979 in Munich ) is a German-Austrian actress and ensemble member at the Burgtheater in Vienna .

Life

Mavie Hörbiger is the daughter of Thomas Hörbiger and his wife Gaby and thus the granddaughter of Paul Hörbiger , the second niece of Christiane Hörbiger and cousin of Christian Tramitz . Mavie Hörbiger attended secondary school in Aichach, Bavaria , where she completed her secondary school leaving certificate . She began an acting training in the acting studio of Christa Willschrei in Munich, which she did not finish. After finishing school, she turned down all role offers for a year and worked in a video library in Berlin.

In December 2006 she married her fellow actor Michael Maertens in Basel , after separating from her long-term partner, director Christopher Roth , that same year . In 2009 Hörbiger and Maertens became parents of a daughter, in August 2012 of a son. The couple split in 2016. The family continues to live in Vienna. Hörbiger lives with her partner, media scientist and curator Paul Feigelfeld .

During her school days she was in front of the camera for Michael Gutmann's TV film Just for One Night in 1996 . Since 2001 she has been playing theater alongside her film and television roles, starting with a guest engagement at the Schauspielhaus Hannover . In the play Komödie der Verführung she was on stage in the 2002/2003 season at the Schauspielhaus Bochum , where she took on a leading role in a play for the first time in Lulu in 2004 . In 2006 she began her permanent engagement at the Basel Theater, initially for two years, with her role as “Roxane” in the play Cyrano , followed by “Stella” in Endstation Sehnsucht . In 2004, Mavie Hörbiger reached third place behind Britney Spears and Heidi Klum in the vote for the 100 Sexiest Women in the World by the men's magazine FHM . Overall, she made it into the top 100 in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008. Since 2005, Hörbiger has also been known to a larger audience through her role as Lilo Gabriel in the TV series Arme Millionär ( RTL and ORF ). At the Vienna Burgtheater Hörbiger appeared in Alfred de Musset's Lorenzaccio in 2009/2010 and in Peter Handke's adaptation of Helena by Euripides , and in 2010/2011 she played in Michael Laub's castle portraits . She has been a permanent member of the Burgtheater ensemble since the 2011/2012 season. This was followed by the roles of Tinkerbell in JM Barries Peter Pan and Sian in Simon Stephens ' Wastwater . In 2012/2013 she played Marie in Molnár's Liliom .
