McGregor is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lee County in the US state of Florida with 7,406 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

McGregor is on the Caloosahatchee River and borders Fort Myers to the north . The CDP is crossed by Florida State Road 867 . Tampa is 200 km and Miami 220 km away.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 7406 inhabitants at that time were distributed among 4717 households. The population density was 1122.1 inh / km². 94.7% of the population identified themselves as whites, 1.4% as African American , 0.1% as Indians and 1.6% as Asian Americans . 1.0% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.0% to several ethnic groups. 5.7% of the population was Hispanic or Latino .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 18.5% of all households and people aged 65 or over lived in 42.2% of all households. 62.7% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring).
