McGregor is on the Caloosahatchee River and borders Fort Myers to the north . The CDP is crossed by Florida State Road 867 . Tampa is 200 km and Miami 220 km away.

According to the 2010 census, the 7406 inhabitants at that time were distributed among 4717 households.
