Pineland is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lee County in the US state of Florida with 407 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Pineland is located in the north of Pine Island . The island is connected to Cape Coral by a bridge . The CDP is located approximately 34 km west of Fort Myers , 210 km from Tampa and 260 km from Miami .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 407 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 294 households. The population density was 169.6 inh / km². 94.8% of the population described themselves as white . 1.5% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.7% to several ethnic groups. 5.2% of the population was Hispanic or Latino .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 49.0% of all households lived in 8.7% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 63.0% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.96 people and the average family size was 2.37 people.

9.2% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 9.2% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.9% were 40 to 59 years old, and 49.9% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 60 years. 47.2% of the population were male and 52.8% were female.

The median annual income was $ 38,487 with no one living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100% of the population.
