Cypress Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lee County in the US state of Florida with 11,846 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Cypress Lake is touched by Florida State Road 867 and is located about 2 km south of Fort Myers . Tampa is 130 miles away and Miami is 130 miles away.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 11,846 inhabitants were distributed over 9019 households. The population density was 1150.1 inh / km². 93.9% of the population identified themselves as whites, 2.2% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 0.8% as Asian Americans . 1.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.2% to several ethnic groups. 8.2% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 and 49.5% of all households lived in 12.3% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 49.1% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.81 people and the average family size was 2.41 people.

11.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 17.6% were 20 to 39 years old, 24.5% were 40 to 59 years old, and 46.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 58 years. 44.8% of the population were male and 55.2% were female.
