Harlem Heights is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lee County in the US state of Florida with 1975 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Harlem Heights is about 6 miles south of Fort Myers . Tampa is 130 miles away and Miami is 130 miles away.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 1975 population at that time was distributed over 632 households. The population density was 940.5 inh / km². 40.1% of the population identified themselves as whites, 22.6% as African-Americans , 0.3% as Indians and 0.1% as Asian Americans . 32.2% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.9% to several ethnic groups. 70.2% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 59.9% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 12.3% of all households. 81.3% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 3.62 people and the average family size was 3.79 people.

39.1% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 35.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 18.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 7.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 26 years. 51.2% of the population were male and 48.8% were female.
