Punta Rassa is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lee County in the US state of Florida with 1750 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Punta Rassa is located at the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River in the Gulf of Mexico and around 15 km southwest of Fort Myers . Tampa is approximately 220 km and Miami 230 km away.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 1750 inhabitants at that time were distributed among 1436 households. The population density was 286.9 inh / km². 99.0% of the population identified themselves as white , 0.9% as African American and 0.2% as Asian Americans . 0.5% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 1.7% of all households and people aged 65 or over lived in 91.2% of all households. 44.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.51 people and the average family size was 2.08 people.
