Myron Bradford "Mike" Kreidler (born September 28, 1943 in Tacoma , Washington ) is an American politician . Between 1993 and 1995 he represented the state of Washington in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Mike Kreidler attended Pacific University in Oregon until 1967 . He later studied optics at the University of California in Los Angeles, among others . From 1970 to 1971 and again in 1991 he was a member of the US Army Reserve . He was used in the Vietnam War and the Second Gulf War. Between 1972 and 1992 Kreidler was an ophthalmologist at the Group Health Cooperative in Olympia (Washington). He also served on the board of directors of the North Thurston School District from 1973 to 1977 .

Politically, Kreidler joined the Democratic Party . Between 1977 and 1984 he was a member of the Washington House of Representatives , and from 1985 to 1992 he was a member of the State Senate . In the 1992 congressional elections , he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the newly created ninth constituency of his state . There he took up his new mandate on January 3, 1993. Since he was defeated by the Republican Randy Tate in the following elections in 1994 , he was only able to complete one term in Congress until January 3, 1995 .

After leaving the US House of Representatives, Kreidler was appointed Insurance Commissioner for the Washington state government in 2000. He still holds this office today. Kreidler lives privately with his wife Lela in Lacey . The couple has three grown children.
