Stanton Warburton

Stanton Warburton (born April 13, 1865 in Sullivan County , Pennsylvania , †  December 24, 1926 in Boston , Massachusetts ) was an American politician . Between 1911 and 1913 he represented the state of Washington in the US House of Representatives .

Career

In 1868, Stanton Warburton moved to Cherokee , Iowa with his parents . There he attended public schools. In 1888 he graduated from Coe College at Cedar Rapids . In the same year he moved to Tacoma , Washington Territory . After a subsequent law degree and his admission as a lawyer in 1889, he began to work in Tacoma in his new profession.

Politically, Warburton became a member of the Republican Party . Between 1896 and 1904 he was a member of the Washington Senate . In the 1910 congressional elections, he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the second constituency of his state , where he succeeded William W. McCredie on March 4, 1911 . Since he was not confirmed in the subsequent elections in 1910, he was only able to complete one term in Congress until March 3, 1913 .

After leaving the US House of Representatives, Stanton Warburton withdrew from politics. In the following years he worked as a lawyer. He died in Boston on December 24, 1926 and was buried in Tacoma.
