Morris Tyler

Morris Franklin Tyler was an American politician . Between 1871 and 1873 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Connecticut .

Career

There are virtually no usable sources on Morris Tyler. He was married to Mary Frisbee Butler, who gave birth to a son in 1848, who was also named Morris. He became a professor of law at Yale University and also worked in the telephone industry.

The elder Morris Tyler is still known to trade in shoes and boots professionally. He lived in New Haven , where he was mayor, and became a member of the Republican Party . In 1870 he was elected lieutenant governor of the state of Connecticut, alongside Marshall Jewell . He held this office between 1871 and 1873. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate .
