Edwin O. Keeler

Edwin Olmstead Keeler (born January 12, 1846 in Ridgefield , Connecticut , †  December 4, 1923 in Norwalk , Connecticut) was an American politician . Between 1901 and 1903 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Connecticut.

Career

Nothing is known about Edwin Keeler's youth and schooling. He worked in the grocery store and as a banker. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . Between 1893 and 1896 he was a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives ; in 1893 and 1894 he was also Mayor of Norwalk. In June 1896 he took part as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in St. Louis , at which William McKinley was nominated as a candidate for president. From 1897 to 1900 he was a member of the Connecticut Senate .

In 1900, Keeler was elected lieutenant governor alongside George P. McLean . He held this office between 1901 and 1903. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. Since May 13, 1868 he was married to Sarah Velina Whiting. He died in Norwalk on December 4, 1923.
