Ernest E. Rogers
Ernest Elias Rogers ( December 6, 1866 , † January 28, 1945 ) was an American politician . Between 1929 and 1931 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Connecticut .
Career
Neither the place of birth nor the place of death of Ernest Rogers has been recorded. There is also no information about his youth and school education or his career outside of politics. He lived in New London . Politically, he joined the Republican Party . In 1917 he was Mayor of New London; In 1920 he was elected to the Connecticut House of Representatives. Between 1925 and 1929 he was State Treasurer . In June 1928 he took part as a delegate at the Republican National Convention in Kansas City , where Herbert Hoover was nominated as a presidential candidate.
That same year, Rogers was elected lieutenant governor of Connecticut alongside John H. Trumbull . He held this office between 1929 and 1931. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After the end of his time as Lieutenant Governor, Ernest Rogers was no longer politically active. He died on January 28, 1945.
