NGC 571 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type S in the constellation fish on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 214 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxy NGC 566 is located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Heinrich d'Arrest on October 1, 1864 .
