NGC 570 is a bar-spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Whale south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 248 million light years from the Milky Way and about 115,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 545 , NGC 548 , NGC 565 , NGC 585 .
The object was discovered by George Mary Searle on October 31, 1867 .
