NGC 565 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Cetus south of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 205 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 75,000 ly

The object was discovered on November 2, 1867 by the American astronomer George Mary Searle .
