from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve An der Gemeine with a size of 18.05  hectares is located east of Dreislar in the urban area of Medebach . It was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2003 with the Medebach landscape plan. The NSG is part of the European bird sanctuary Medebacher Bucht . In the east it goes to the state border with Hessen .

Area description

The NSG is a grassland area with wet and poor grassland and hedges. Endangered plant species occur in the NSG. In the NSG breed rear breeders such as Red-backed Shrike .

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the grassland and its species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area was declared a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
