from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve Berger Bachtal with a size of 15.96  ha is located east of Berge in the urban area of Medebach . It was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2003 with the Medebach landscape plan. The NSG is part of the European bird sanctuary Medebacher Bucht .

Area description

The NSG is a stream valley with grassland . The grassland is partly poor pasture with bushes. Endangered plant species occur in the NSG. In the NSG breed rear breeders such as Red-backed Shrike .

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the Bachtal with its species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area was declared a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
